Quick Independence Day Look...

Good Morning and Happy 4th Of July.  Enjoy it - but remember that plenty of people have paid a hefty price for us to enjoy the right to shoot fireworks and crow about the precious gift of freedom.  Let's get right to it.

UNSEASONABLY COOL WEATHER CONTINUES FOR A BIT:  The unusually mild pattern thanks to a cool Canadian air mass keeps rolling, with temperatures expected to climb to about 75 today.  Yesterday was one of the coolest July 3rd days we have had.  I'll have to check and see what the lowest daytime high is for that date, but Jackson only managed 72 degrees!

MILDER WEATHER COMING...AND SOME RAIN TOO:  As we get to the post-holiday period and start back to work, clouds work into the area Sunday, and by Sunday night into Monday, we'll see some scattered showers and thunderstorms.  I'll have to watch this and see if it turns into something more, as the Storm Prediction Center has placed a "slight" risk for severe weather over northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin, a smidgen of Minnesota and Indiana, along with parts of Iowa for Sunday...

We'll see how those hold up coming across the lake.  Judging by the risk bubble, we may get another bout of damaging wind.

Here's the forecast - I'll update and add as time permits today...

Have a good, safe 4th!  Blessings.
