Weekend Clearing, Mild With Rain Next Week...

Good Morning!

Hard to believe that we have put Halloween away and now we're busy sorting out plans for Thanksgiving!  In the meantime, weather-wise, we'll see some changeable conditions, for another day or two, then a brief break before clouds and some rains move in next week. Let's have a look:

WIND AND RAINS DYING OFF:  The last couple of days have been blustery to say the least around here.  That 983 millibar low was something to watch as it rotated through the area,  The good news is that once you've found anything that got relocated by those winds, we can move on with calming conditions.  I can't rule out a quick hit of rain or snow, especially in the north end of the blog, but I don't expect a lot to come of it, and we get into the cooler, more stable air on the back side of that low, which is well off to the northeast and into Canada by now.  Keep some mention of a bit of light snow with minimal accumulation possible in the north zone of the blog, or a stray shower or two working through, especially along and south of I-96.

WARMER NEXT WEEK!:  With the low well away from us, a bit of ridging rebuilds in the area, giving us a nice temperature bump for the weekend and even early next week.  Average highs run right around 47 degrees this time of year, and we'll be 10 or more degrees above that as two things happen: 1) high pressure slides south of us, through the lower Ohio Valley and into the Virginia Appalachians; and 2) the next big weather maker works into the Rockies next week, giving them big time snows and turning our winds southerly, which also ramps up our rain chances.  Let's talk about that piece...

WET WEEK NEXT WEEK?:  Not a soaker, but it sure does look like there's a risk of some scattered showers each day through the forecast window.  The trigger man is a 995 millibar low that sets up shop on the Colorado/Kansas line.  While that's busy dropping snow in the Rockies and Colorado Front Range, out in the eastern part of that system, which is Kansas and Missouri, expect rain.  I anticipate showers and thunderstorms in the Great Plains, and as that low spins up warm, moist Gulf air, some showers will likely pop here in Michigan.  I don't see a ton of rain in the forecast, but areas along and west of US 127 will have some showers to work through.  STarting from Tuessay on, there will be a chance of showers and such in the picture each day throught he forecast window,

LOOKING DOWN THE LINE:  As we get though the end of the 7 day and into "extended play" territory, we're not really seeing much until the Tuesday before Thanksgiving as the next credible chance of rain in the area.  Late that evening forecast data is suggesting a low on the Iowa/Missouri border will bring us some more rain, and depending on how that tracks as it leaves that area, we could see some snow.

Here's the forecast for Jackson and vicinity, including Michigan Center and Leslie:

Today - Cloudy, some lingering showers, cool.  High 43.

Tonight - Clearing skies and cold, lows near 30.

Saturday - Sunny skies and seasonably warm.  High 49.

Sunday - Bright blue skies and above average readings. High 58.

Monday - Increasing clouds with some developing afternoon and evening showers, still mild. High 56.

Tuesday - Cloudy skies, periods of scattered showers.  High 59.

Wednesday - Mainly cloudy, some peeks of sun and warmer, a shower or two can't be ruled out; high 62.

Thursday - Still mainly overcast skies, we keep the chance of some stray showers in the forecast, high 59.

Friday - You guessed it, more clouds than sun and some scattered showers possible.  High 56.

There's your forecast, I hope that you have a great day!  Blessings.
