Are You Sure It's December?

Good Evening!

Mainly cloudy skies lingered around the area today, with a couple of sprinkles mixed in with them as well.  We'll see some clearing tonight and moderation in temperature, with some better chances at rain toward the tail end of the weekend.  Let's take a deeper dive and see what's going on here...

SUMMARY:  We see our temperatures continue their climb, with readings pushing into the 50's tomorrow, and making a run at 60 on Sunday, though for my money, I really think that some rain will put the brakes on our readings getting that high in this part of the world, with temperatures settling comfortably in the mid 50's for Sunday. Mild temperatures persist, we look at a couple of 60 degree readings on Monday then Monday night the bottom falls out of it all and we'll see temperatures plummet back into the upper 40's which is more typical for this time of year, but still above normal, as our average temperatures for the first week of December should be running right around 37 degrees.  Enjoy this unseasonably warm weather while we have it though!  Nighttime lows for the period should bottom out in the low to mid 30's at their lowest point.  We won't see anything below 30 until the middle of next week.

RAIN:  Some clouds move through in fits and starts tonight and into tomorrow, and as a result, we have a slight chance at some rain for Saturday.  Those rain chances drop a bit, then increase sharply as we get into Saturday night and Sunday, when we see scattered to numerous showers move through the area, then that's about it. Drier conditions start to work into the area late Monday evening.  Midweek, you could see some snowflakes with temperatures falling as much as 25 degrees as compared to Monday.  If you take a look at the five day precipitation map from the National Weather Service, you'll see that we are forecast to pick up some decent precipitation between now and Thursday...

5 Day Precipitation Forecast
This forecast calls for about a half-inch or so of precipitation, and that looks about right based on what I am seeing right now.

Let's take a look at the local forecast for Jackson and surrounding areas including Parma and Liberty Township:

Tonight, partly cloudy skies, lows roll back to near 34, winds SE 4-7 MPH

Saturday, mostly cloudy skies, perhaps an occasional peek at the sun, warmer, high 50.  Winds S 6-12 MPH.

Saturday night, cloudy skies, scattered to numerous showers, temperatures hold nearly steady with a low of 46.  Winds turning SW and increasing to 8-15 MPH.

Sunday, cloudy to start with some afternoon clearing, mild, high 58, winds SW 4-9 MPH.

Sunday night, partly cloudy skies, lows near 44.  Winds SW 4-7 MPH.

Monday, partly to mostly sunny skies, unseasonably warm, showers developing late, high 62.

Tuesday, scattered showers start to taper off  under partly cloudy skies, much cooler, highs only make it to 46.

Wednesday, periods of clouds and sun, perhaps a stray flurry or two as highs struggle to 40.

Thursday, continued partly sunny, a touch warmer, high 44.

There's a look at your six day forecast, I do hope that you have a great evening!  Blessings.
