Good Morning!
With not a lot of time to research and post for you due to working the straight job, here's a summary of the big themes the next couple of days and a look at the forecast. I'll have the extended play forecast for you this evening. (Besides at that point I'll have fresher forecast modeling and data to review for you!)
That's how it looks to shake out for you, I hope you have a wonderful day! Blessings.

Seasonable & Mild? We Can Do That!!!
Good Morning!
If you're like me, you were awakened pre-dawn by some loud rumbles of thunder and a bit of a light show in S. Central Michigan today. Some nocturnal convection (a $5 term for nighttime thunderstorms) developed across the lake in Wisconsin and tracked east, moving across the area. As a result, some low-lying areas have flooded a bit, triggering some Flood Advisories for Eaton, Ingham and Clinton counties. We're not done with the stormy weather either. Let's have a closer look...
SEASONABLE AT LAST: Finally we manage to get and hold on to some seasonable temperature readings in the area! Instead of the daytime highs going up and down like a yo-yo, we manage to get to 70 or better and stay there for awhile! 70 is the average in this part of the world, and based on forecast data, I don't see us below that mark until next Tuesday. Tomorrow will be warm and summery, with readings touching 80 in many spots. That's a winner! Here's a look at current readings around the US...
See the ridging building in between the Plains and the Appalachians, it's going to make a guest appearance here in Michigan for awhile! Enjoy the sneak peek at summer, but be mindful that we'll also see some...
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS THE NEXT FEW DAYS: Warm moist Gulf air is being funneled into this part of the US by hitching a ride with the low-level jet stream (a river of fast moving air, generally under about 10000 feet - it's a key player in storm development during the warm season), creating quality air and clouds for some storms to develop as you add a frontal boundary to destabilize everything. While we don't have a severe weather risk beyond the garden variety thunderstorms, we do have a chance at a few stray showers or a storm.
LOOKING AHEAD: Monday and Tuesday next week should feature scattered showers and thunder as a surface low tracks right at S. Central Michigan. This low will keep things cloudy and showery to start the week, and it will force us to give back the 70+ readings we will have enjoyed for a few days. Highs early next week will top out around 64.
Here's the forecast for Jackson and the surrounding area including Spring Arbor and Grass Lake:
I'm out of time and have to work the straight job now, but I hope to have the six day planner ready for you this evening. Have a wonderful day! Blessings.
Storms In Progress
A line of thunderstorms stretches from Grand Rapids to Monroe. They are moving east at 30 MPH. While they are noisy and may have some pea sized hail and strong winds, they are expected to remain under severe limits.
Strong Storms On The Way
A line of strong storms with pea sized hail and some intense lightning is on the way into South Central Michigan as I write. Get inside and let these storms pass! The are moving ESE at 35 MPH.

Warming Enroute...
Good Evening!
After some time away, I am back in the saddle (for awhile anyway). We're going to see a nice warm-up in the coming days. The early March conditions that have lingered all spring get out of here and we finally get to temperatures that are seasonable and beyond. Let's have a look...
BIG TIME RIDGING BUILDING IN: The warmest air of the season so far is on the way, culminating with the forecast computer models suggesting a high of 82 for Thursday! Summer-like readings there, and definitely more like what we should be seeing this time of year.
NOT A LOT OF RAIN: We'll not only have the warm summer-like readings working into the area, but there's not a ton of rain coming with that either, which you'd expect if we're setting up a ridge across the middle third of the United States. Here's a look at the Weather Prediction Center 5 Day Forecast map:
As you can see, three-quarters of an inch of rain on the high side in this part of the world. You'll want to use the sprinkler between now and Thursday. Speaking of Thursday, that's the day we have our best chance at...
SOME SCATTERED LATE WEEK THUNDERSTORMS: Model data is suggesting that for the latter part of the week we could see some scattered showers and storms, with Thursday being the better chance between then and Friday. Too early to tell if this will be a shot at some severe weather also, but with the models showing a fairly strong surface low back to the west, in Wisconsin, you could definitely see some weather issues. I'll keep an eye on that and let you know what should transpire as we get closer to Thursday and Friday.
Here's the forecast:
Have a great night!
