Warming Enroute...

Good Evening!

After some time away, I am back in the saddle (for awhile anyway).  We're going to see a nice warm-up in the coming days.  The early March conditions that have lingered all spring get out of here and we finally get to temperatures that are seasonable and beyond.  Let's have a look...

BIG TIME RIDGING BUILDING IN:  The warmest air of the season so far is on the way, culminating with the forecast computer models suggesting a high of 82 for Thursday!  Summer-like readings there, and definitely more like what we should be seeing this time of year.

NOT A LOT OF RAIN:  We'll not only have the warm summer-like readings working into the area, but there's not a ton of rain coming with that either, which you'd expect if we're setting up a ridge across the middle third of the United States.  Here's a look at the Weather Prediction Center 5 Day Forecast map:

As you can see, three-quarters of an inch of rain on the high side in this part of the world.  You'll want to use the sprinkler between now and Thursday.  Speaking of Thursday, that's the day we have our best chance at...

SOME SCATTERED LATE WEEK THUNDERSTORMS:  Model data is suggesting that for the latter part of the week we could see some scattered showers and storms, with Thursday being the better chance between then and Friday.  Too early to tell if this will be a shot at some severe weather also, but with the models showing a fairly strong surface low back to the west, in Wisconsin, you could definitely see some weather issues.  I'll keep an eye on that and let you know what should transpire as we get closer to Thursday and Friday.

Here's the forecast:

Have a great night!
