Detail For Next Week...

Good Evening!

We put the finishing touches on a picture perfect day in South Central Michigan.  Seasonably mild, abudant sunshine, you just can't beat it!  Let's have a look at what's on tap now that there's time for me to really get into detail...

CLEAR SKIES STAY FOR MOST OF MOTHER'S DAY:  As it stands now we should be able to get through most of the day tomorrow with sunny and pleasant conditions, but we will ramp up the chances at some showers and thunderstorms of the scattered variety later in the day.  You should be able to take Mom out for breakfast or lunch tomorrow with no issues.  That being said, you might have some showers if you're planning on dinner out with Mom.  For my money, it will be primarily an increasingly cloudy afternoon deal, with rain moving in around or after sunset.  We'll need to see how conditions shake out between lunch and 3 PM.

NO SEVERE HERE...YET:  Nothing much to see on radar or satellite here in this part of the world, however there is a low kicking up a bit of a fuss in the Plains.  Now, in a couple of days, we expect that the system and dynamics causing the ruckus off to the west will be close enough to impact us.  Have a look at the Storm Prediction Center forecast map:

If everything lines up as advertised by the Storm Prediction Center, some severe storms with hail and such are on the table for Monday afternoon/evening.  We'll need to keep watch on that.  If you have friends or loved ones in Kansas, Nebraska or Iowa, get with them and tell them to stay weather-savvy tomorrow, as it looks like a significant severe weather event is shaping up for that part of the world!

WARMING CONDITIONS THEN THE BOTTOM FALLS OUT:  We'll see readings pushing into the upper 70's with a couple of 80 or better readings likely to start the week.  After the next frontal system pushes through, we get a shot of cooler northwest flow from north of the border, sending readings down into the 60's.  Those readings work in here Tuesday evening, giving us a chilly start to Wednesday, with readings down into the mid 40's!

I'll have complete graphics and forecast later this evening, when the laptop charges!
