Great Holiday Weather....

Good Morning!

Fairly seasonable weather is expected to stay with us for the next few days, with the general trend a couple of degrees above normal as we get into midweek.  Breezy conditions and a mix of clouds and sunshine will keep temperatures from getting too hot.  Let's have a look:

LABOR DAY:  A ridge of warm, moist airmass is sitting over the western half of the US this morning, with troughing digging it's way into the eastern half of the nation.  What that means for us is increasing sunshine, and diminishing chances of rain.  Northwesterly breezes should keep us fairly comfy with temperatures in the mid 70's as Canadian high pressure works into the area.  We keep that in place for the next day or two as we get ready to send the kids...

BACK TO SCHOOL:  A good many kids head out to school tomorrow as the 2013-14 school year kicks off.  The bus stop forecast looks fine, with temperatures around 52 and clear skies to welcome the rising sun, while they wait for their bus or catch a ride with someone.  We'll see more sunshine and temperatures right around 75 again.

NO SEVERE WEATHER EXPECTED:  The next three days are devoid of severe weather anywhere in the US of A according to the Storm Prediction Center.  That being said, the upper third of the mitten and the Upper Peninsula could see some showers or pulse storms as that upper wave meanders through today and possibly tomorrow.  Nonetheless, a quiet stretch of weather expected in this area and across the lower 48. We'll see if that holds in subsequent runs.

LOOKING AHEAD:  Mild conditions and just plain nice until early next week.  Forecast models are suggesting a surface boundary working in here on Sunday that may touch off some scattered showers and perhaps a couple of popcorn thunderstorms.  Friday night football is looking just fine this week.  Plenty of sunshine for the school kids during recess and on the way home, and weather shouldn't be much of a factor as you commute to and from work.

Here's the forecast:

Today:  Increasing sunshine as the day wears on, pleasant, high 74, wind NW 5-10 MPH.

Tonight:  Mostly starry skies, some passing clouds, low 49.  Wind NW 3-7 MPH.

Tuesday:  Sunny and splendid, high 75, wind WNW 4-9 MPH.

Tuesday Night:  Clear and comfy, great sleeping weather with a window open, lows near 46, wind cal to W at 6 MPH.

Wednesday:  Sunny, warmer, high 80.  Wind W 5-10 MPH.

There's a quick look at your forecast through mid-week, we'll have an update and look into the weekend later on.  ENJOY THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY!  It's good to be back!
