Getting warm in the area with readings already touching 80, especially south. A change in the pattern as some more substantial rain is anticipated in the near future. Let's have a look:
SUNNY AND WARMER TO START: Sunshine aplenty throughout the area right now, we do note some clouds southwest, out over Lake Michigan and back into the Chicago metro, as well as in central Wisconsin...
RAIN MOVES IN LATER: Two chances at rain today into tonight from what I can see here: One shortly after lunchtime, this would be another popcorn storm affair, with localized instability due to ground heating creating widely scattered to perhaps scattered storms. A bit of a breather, then the second round of rainfall works into the area this evening and tonight, with some fresh activity that should be organizing south of a Ludington to Midland line. Let's look at what the Weather Prediction Center thinks regarding rain:
CLEARING FOR MIDWEEK: We'll get the shower and storm activity out of here tomorrow, and enjoy sunny and seasonable readings for the rest of the week, and I still don't see a true "dog days of August" heat wave in the cards! Be thankful for that!
Here's the forecast:
Today - increasing clouds, scattered showers and a storm this afternoon and evening, high 84. Wind SW 6-12 MPH.
Tonight - cloudy periods of showers and thunderstorms, some may have small hail and heavy rain. Lows near 58. Wind SW 5-10 MPH.
Tuesday - cloudy with perhaps a lingering shower to start, then clearing. High 80. Wind WSW 4-8 MPH.
Wednesday - mostly sunny, seasonably pleasant, high 79. Wind NNW calm to 5 MPH.
Thursday - continued sunny and beautiful, high 81.
Friday - abundant sunshine, high 82.
Saturday - another late summer winner! Full on sunshine, high 83.
There's a look at your forecast for the next six days, I hope you have a wonderful day! Blessings.
